Commissions

Commissions are where bespoke pieces are made to order. This could be any of the following:

  • A new design made to the customer's requirements.

  • Another version of an existing piece that is sold or otherwise no longer available.

  • A version of an existing design made to a specific size requirement.

Step One

The commissioning process is quite straightforward

The first step is an initial consultation to discuss what you would like. this would ideally be a face-to-face meeting, but it could also be done via video link, phone or email, where distance is an issue.

Step Two

I will come up with some initial ideas and sketches to fit the brief. I can also make a maquette (scale model) at this stage which gives a good idea of how the final piece will look. If the piece is for a particular setting, I can also produce a photo montage to help you to envisage what the final piece will look like in situ.

Step Three

Once we have agreed on a design, I ask for a 20% deposit and will allocate you a slot in my waiting list.

For larger pieces there may be staged payments, but this will be agreed in advance.

Step Four

Once I have started on the piece, I can send regular updates and photos of progress in the studio. You will be welcome to arrange to visit to see the progress.

When the piece is complete I will arrange delivery and installation if required. Final payment will be required prior to delivery.

See delivery details.

Plinths

If required, plinths can be supplied for the sculptures for inside or out, in a range of materials and surface finishes.
I work closely with a specialist bespoke plinth fabricator to obtain a stable and secure plinth that is complementary to the sculpture and the intended location. Installation can also be arranged if required.
