The original Small Hug — a contemporary stone sculpture of two figures embracing, individually hand-carved in Portland stone.

A timeless and heartfelt hug, conveying love, compassion and human connection.

Simple, tactile and made to be handled and cherished, Small Hug is intended as a comforting reminder of the power of close connection with others.

The form was originally conceived during a difficult period in my life. Carving it became a therapeutic process, and the sense of connection and comfort embodied in the sculpture remains central to the work today.

Each Small Hug is individually hand-carved, so no two are exactly alike. It is an open edition, meaning there is no fixed limit to the number that will be created.

Each sculpture bears my inset sterling silver maker's mark in the base.
