Hug is a contemporary semi-abstract stone sculpture of two figures embracing, hand-carved in Portland stone by Herefordshire sculptor Jan Bruce.

"A timeless and heartfelt embrace, conveying love, comfort and human connection."

The flowing, simplified forms capture the closeness and tenderness of an embrace, while the larger scale allows the sculptural form to be appreciated from a distance as well as close up.

Each sculpture is individually hand-carved, so every piece has its own subtle variations and character.

At 23 inches tall, Hug has a strong presence in a home, garden or outdoor space. It can be displayed directly on a suitable surface or paired with an optional weathered steel plinth, available to order separately.

This 23-inch version was exhibited at Jan's 'Hugs in the Garden' solo exhibition at The Laskett Garden in October 2025. Details here.
